How to Receive Provision at the Right Time.

Now, it wasn’t my intention.  These shoes should last at least another year.  Then the e.mail in my inbox.  “We are 100 yrs. old, and to celebrate the following shoes will be discounted by $100 per pair.”  Now wasn’t that worth looking at?

Of course this was advertising.  I just thought it worth checking out.  On the website I saw the aforementioned shoes.  Hmmm, not bad.  Two pair in particular interested me.  This morning I went to have a look.
Safety Reason
Now you must know that I have had a very bad fall with my electric bike.  This happened because my shoe lace got caught on the pedal.  Since then I avoid shoes with laces.  These two pair did not have laces.  One was a zip-up and one was a velcro closure.

At the shop there was only one pair my size.  (My feet are big!)  It was not the colour I had decided on.  I would have bought them, but the assistant found a pair my size and the colour I wanted, in another store.  They would be sent over.  I pick them up next week.

Now why is this worth writing about?
Anxiety Anecdote
I have been concerned about my finances lately and so anxiety has tried to creep in.  I don’t want anxiety, I want to live in God’s peace.  And the only good shoes that I still have are white.  Not the best with winter clothing.  And winter is approaching.  New shoes were definitely on the horizon.  This meant an outlay of around $250 on average.

Now I have new shoes which were advertised at $169 and the celebration discount meant that I have a pair of smart and comfortable winter shoes in the colour of my choice, for only $69.
Lesson.
Again the words in the Bible have proven to be reliable.  Jesus’ words in Matthew 6, “And why do you worry about clothes?  See how the flowers of the field grow.  They do not labour or spin. … If that is how God clothes the grass of the field … will he not much more clothe you – you of little faith?” (v. 28 & 30)  Again the reminder that my Father in heaven knows what I need and supplies it in his own good time.  And always on time.
